Anim8or in the Classroom

I have just completed instructing 75 freshmen in a 1 day course entitled Introduction to 3D animation.  The course introduces high school student to the fundamentals of 3D animation.  I chose Anim8or as our software because it's easy to use, free, and has everything needed to make short animated films.  The course was a great success and the student really enjoyed learning Anim8or and making short films.

The course is a web-siminar laid out over several web pages.  I would like to make those pages available to the Anim8or community.  It's a great place to get started if you are new or haven't used the software in a while.  The course covers the creation of character and environment models, scenes, and a short animated film. Topic covered are object modeling, texturing, and animation. Texture Mapping, Set Layout, Scene Lighting, and Camera Movement are also highlights of this course.

I just wanted to share... so here's the link:

Enjoy!

Thanks Rudy. Glad to have some support. I've been away from animation for a while. I made this for my son. He's 3 and loves Super Friends...
He digs it so I say it's a winner.

Indian8or thanks for starting this post... I just kinda piggy backed on it but it really let me get some stuff off my chest.  Thanks to you too _the_Red.  Tried to do what I thought MJ would like to see out of Anim8or.  :)

... been feeling the same way the last few days.  So sad the biggest icon from my childhood is gone.  Got up this morning and started this little animation...

Thanks for the music MJ :)

Nice... I like how you hid her face. 'Hatter looks spot on! But I lill have to say that my favorite part is the table cloth... my eyes seem to be drawn to it.  Great work!

Thanks for all the great feedback... NASA is processing the data and determining the next launch date.  Stay tuned!  In the meanwhile here is a little something I worked on for a long time.  I lost the audio file so had to abandon the project...

Thanks for all the good feed back... I think in my rush to see the overall animation I neglected the physics of such a landing.  Ha ha ... Thanks guys!

Test animation of the space shuttle landing at an air field.  Going for a photo-realistic feel with this one.
