General Anim8or Forum / Re: Zoom?

i just need to ask a question, i use the little eye icon to do all my view changing and zooming in and out, but most people seem to use the arc, is this just because you're more used to arc rotate, or is it better for modeling to use arc rotate, i haven't had any trouble using the eye, just thought i'd find out

you might have turned one of the axes off, there are 3 boxes with X,Y and Z in them, make sure they are all pressed in, i hope that helps

:o nice!! you sure that's your first?  that's a pretty nice model, the handle is a bit...square though, i like the blade, the way you've modeled the front of the sword further forward than the middle (i don't even know what i'm talking about) makes it look sharper, well done

make sure you save the materials though, or you'll have to re-texture your object from scratch

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Re: Features request
« on: February 21, 2008, 06:29:14 pm »
one feature i'd like to see, is the ability to copy and paste an object in scene mode, it's really quite annoying when i have to resize an object that is needed multiple times in the scene, i have to resize them all seperately once they're added

or is this already in there? am i missing something?

if it's a square it's easy, but with a circle it might take a while, mabye this is a feature to suggest? the choice for uv mapping to either:

1. have this texture mapped onto all faces as a whole picture

or

2. have it applied to all faces seperately facing the same direction of the face

i think he means to ask where to acces the skeleton mode, you just click on mode at the top left and click figure

for the materials, in the toolbar just above the viewing screen there is an option that looks like 4 black dots, this will show you the materials toolbar

well once i was just testing out my animating, just checking i knew how to do it all right, i made a few random shapes spinning at different speeds and slowly moving in a constant direction, i think something like that would make a good space explosion if you haven't got terranim8or yet

General Anim8or Forum / The Walking Bird tutorial
« on: February 17, 2008, 11:31:35 am »
i have tried this tutorial from the website, i skipped it when i started using anim8or so i decided to try it to understand the figure mode

it was going well untill i got to the beak, it tells you to make a square (NGon with 4 sides) but on the picture it is in a diamond shapr, like this <>
but when i made it, it looked like this [ ] the red and blue axis lines face the right way, but when i rotate it to the diamond shape, they are facing the wrong way, is there something i'm meant to do? or is it a problem with the tutorial?

thanks for your help
