"almost cool," you're not the only one who "never seems to finish a project."  I have nothing BUT unfinished projects after almost two years.  But I keep telling myself "one of these days, I'll do it!" Folks knowing anything about me know well how I start great ideas and then never get much further than some half-finished object.

But you have to understand also, people will always push and prod at you if they see something they like, because they want to see it come to completion. It's just how people are.

It doesn't change the fact that I have still, after almost two years, have nothing finished, of course.

NickE mate, you are 105% a star fot coming up with this script! I hope we can get some more scripts going especially in the animating sense as this is definately where its needed!

You are a god!

It's amazing what bloodletting can accomplish when it comes to making wishes, eh?

I just wanted to personally thank NickE for contributing this marvelous new feature for anim8or.

He doesn't realize it, but the real push for tank treads had a lot to do with a project I'm working on, which in turn branched off to a contest at AnimAnon.

Nick, you've opened up a whole new dimension for anim8or users... tracks/treads have so many useful applications, not just for tanks and vehicles, but for conveyor belts, and so much more!

And your truly outrageous approach to making this tank sample is great!

I realize Nick didn't share his sample, and don't know whether he wants it here, so here's a link to his entry for the AnimAnon "Get Tanked" contest...

As far as I know, there were no changes to the settings of my system.

I can't figure out just what happened, but it seems the only way I can run anim80r right now is by opening existing files to get it rolling.

We developed the "mentor program" as a way to hook up with others for direct, one-to-one mentoring between advanced users and newcomers to anim8or.

Anyone wishing to know more may inquire here, or seek out AnimAnon staff to find out about this program, to find yourself a mentor, or offer your services.

So far we've had a number of folks linked up in different capacities, and it has thus far proven to be very good.

Well, it seems that I have a new bug in the anim8or.  Apparently, for some reason I can't determine, the program went from operating normally yesterday in the morning, to, later in afternoon, crashing when running it. The program is set to run and open the last file it accessed.

The program DOES run when I find the file I want to work on and then run by opening the file, but the program will not run when I simply wish to run anim8or alone.  Also, if I close the file I opened with, I am still able to keep on and create new files or open other existing files.

I have tried to run all the versions of anim8or I still keep - 96, 97, 97b.  All versions have the same result, which does imply it is the PC and not the program.

I use Windows Vista, set with Compatibility for XP and in Admin preference. As far as I know, nothing in the setting of either the program or my PC were altered in the interim.

Is anyone else experiencing this situation?

Well now, the timing of this little tool is awesome!

What with the tank projects I've stirred up at AnimAnon, and a related project going on for a bigger purpose...

I'll definitely be taking this tool to task!

Thank YOU!!!!!

Halflifedude, if you plan on trying a tank, I'd be very interested in seeing what you come up with... and might have a project you'd be interested in, as well...

That came out really well!

I really like just about everything to do with this model.  How long did it take to make?

Been wondering what became of you after you had popped into our old AnimAnon site (no longer active).

taking care of that now for ya, TT.

Contest wrapped up in March.  It was intended for a february, monthlong run, after which judging pursued.

However, we do have regular contests every 2 weeks or so if you would like to see more.

Feel free to come on by.  Just click on "AnimAnon" in my signature.

We had problems with our host as we used the SMF newsletter feature to send out announcements.  Apparently the host decided we must be spamming and activated some sort of automatic anti-spam/lock-out mechanism to disable AnimAnon's forum.

I'm not very happy about that, and will be conferring with Kreator on what we might need to consider.  Still a bit unsure about our host, and am having troubles justifying giving these guys money to upgrade.... A few things have made me a little nervous about them and this definitely does nothing to improve my sense of security.

Strange Worlds Contestants have posted their entries! Check them out at either of these links!;boardseen#new,627.msg6055.html#msg6055
