I like the sword although it could use a shadow. And maybe experiment with making light rays to give it an ethereal look .

I like the texture for the stone, but the stone itself makes it look more like the sword in the potato than the sword in the stone.

I use this for everything, from listening to music at work, watching movies, to showing off my work done in Anim8or. It was an excellent investment so I only figured it appropriate to make a model of it.

It took about a week to make (2 hours of so a day)

Very nice (love the textures) but a wheelcar that is that old ,the blue paint would have rubbed to chrome against the rails I think.  A mixture of chrome, blue, and of course grease as mentioned above.

Other than that excellent, very realistic.

Pretty good for 3 hours of work.
Now that you have more time you can add more detail to the wheels.
Modeling the ball bearings as separate objects and placing them in the hubs should be easy enough.

It needs bolts to connect the trucks to the board.

I'm assuming the board is a subdivide. If you double click on it you can experiment with the divisions setting to round it off more.

How do you change the intensity of an infinite light?

This model is just sick...
I agree with B3Dman, that is an area I really need to work on.

Texturing tight areas on a subdivide is a real pain.
The model looks how you want it, then you add a texture and it overlaps all over the place and bleeds into areas where you don't want it to.

At first I thought you were making some kind of post-modern sculpture of a woman dancing in the sunlight on a cool winters day rejoicing at her newfound independence from a male dominated world.

And I thought....hmmm, its a quality model...I can picture it displayed in the corner of a large cubist condominium with many windows, white walls, and very few pieces of furniture.

Maybe a few bean bag chairs and a doooofay '.

But then you added a pig nose and I thought AHA! Now that I can relate to.
Pig beasts wearing freaky helmets are always cooler than post-modern art (in my humble opinion)

I'm just being silly (ignore me)

Seriously I really like it. Did you use colored lighting? It looks like you did.

Yeah, its kind of like he is a gymnast and didn't quite stick the landing. BUT he is a 5 ton robot and shouldn't need to hop.
I have been meaning to extend the landing. Make him pause for a bit more and rise more slowly for dramatic effect.

I took your advice on the sun so it's not SO washed out but the camera is pointing directly at the sun. Also the low quality of the You Tube video (even with high quality setting on) looks washed out compared to the original.
I need to get some webspace to store higher quality video.

 >:( I just noticed the wing and the wheel overlap when he lands (doh)  ::)

Anyways I've been working on a chase scene and its set up right now but is way too short.

If anyone is really interested I suppose I could post the model so they could see how I transformed it.

PS anyone know a good way to do a skybox (panoramic backgrounds don't work when you go vertical.

Thank you
Its actually 3 seperate figures.

More detail and image of the bone structure here
As well as the animation without the lenseflare and up close:

If I ever get around to it I have a story that will involve another car/robot and more transformations.
But who knows if I will pursue it.

Well this is a new update. It makes me sick that there now 20 or 30 new transformer animations on You Tube. All better than mine  >:(.

Guess I'll just have to keep working.

I'm pretty proud of this one though.

Exterminate! EXTERMINATE!!!

Sorry those are Darilects, or Dalecks,  or whatever they were called.

Some of the worst special effects ever. I liked that show...

I like large images because you can really look at the details.

No crits its great...
There is a contest for robot models on the CGTalk forum right now and one of the choices is a cyberman:

Check it out...

 :o
I love the little bumps, scratches, and imperfections in this model. When you click the image and see it really up close it is sick!

Are the imperfections UV or are they actually modeled. (looks like maybe a bit of both)

The material looks almost but not entirely like real plastic.

wireframe ?...? material list maybe... ?  ;D

Thanks

Here is a small update

I actually used sequencing with bones if you can believe.
Made the car then chopped it up. I plan to use morph targets to make it look more complex. i.e. basically filler (engine, seats, etc.. morphing into... nothing really, just eye candy)
I know the transition is not smooth trans to bot.. Actually 3 models so from car to trans is smooth enough I guess.
