Anim8or v1.0 Discussion Forum / Texture bug from 0.98 to 1.0

Easily duplicated...

....open  0.98,  add a reference image from  the drop down,  put any  generic image on it,  build a model,  convert the model  to  a mesh,  save the file, open it back up  in  1.0, all of your models now have the reference image as their texture.

Deleting the reference image will  set everything back  to normal.  You can even  delete and hit ctrl+Z and everything stays normal,  but for some  reason it assumes the non textured models should link  to  the the image on the reference plane.

Super-cool  awesomeness!!!!!!

...one thing though,  and it may or may  not be a bug,  but when I opened my project, all of my models were textured with  the reference image,  they  all  had a default texture to  begin with. Not a problem  to  fix it, just  thought I'd mention it while I'm here.

Wow, you're an early adopter!

Starting with the 1.0 release cylinders are always added vertical (in the World Z direction). Is that what you need?

I'll  go  download that  now then,  and have a look  see.  I'm not too picky what  direction it's in,  I can always rotate it, as long as it's accurately aligned to  something(x,y,z).

I think  I'm using 0.98 right now,  but could be wrong,  I have several  versions floating around here.

....Okay,  been using this program since 1999,  and hands down my  favorite box modeling tool,  but, and I have never been able to  figure this out,  how do I drag a cylinder out and have be completely vertical?

Is there a simple way  to  do  this.  As it is,  every time you drag a cylinder it's invariably not 100% up and down, or left and right.  It is in fact,  no matter what, at an angle of some sort.  How do  I get around this?
