No luck. It may be my computer. I had a problem with DX studio earlier. It sent in a bug report. If it's working okay on a 32 bit Vista OS, then my OS may be at fault.

Hmmm. I'm still getting errors, even with the new script. I'm going to download a fresh copy of Anim8or. I also had problems with the polyreducer script.

The Remove Useless didn't work; there were four errors, two of which were listed as syntax.  Sorry I couldn't fix it myself - it would be nice to have. (I'm using Vista, but didn't have any problems before. Anyone else try this script yet?)

I know a lot of artists use anim8or, so I understand and agree with what you're saying. I'm just about finished with my first novel, and I need a website, and I was thinking of making a small, free game to put on the site. I'm not going to use any downloaded models, mostly because of possible legal issues, and since money is short with me right now, I've decided to build the site and the game myself. A program like Make Human could save me a great deal of time if I decide to put a lot of characters in the game. I still haven't really checked it out, or their permissions, but many of the stills on the site, and eventually the game, will be the contorted monsters from my novel, so I would have to remodel anything I downloaded, or I make with a program like Make Human.

Okay, I finally found A DX tutorial that explained how to import a model. Wow. You have to go through about 4 sub-menus to add any saved model, apparently.
Oh, I just stumbled on Make Human - that has got to be one of the coolest free programs I've seen in awhile.

I need a script that would allow me to export my anim8or models into .dxmesh models for DX Studio.
Help!
Anyone?

You will need to activate Administator Control in the Profiles settings. You can also right click and click on Run as Administrator.

Ok. Thanks. I'll try again tomorrow, and then check here again before posting on Cre8or.

I thought I had the figure editor figured out, until I tried using my model in Cre8or. Instead of ending up with a helicopter, I ended up with a helicopter, blades, body, and a figure called helicopter. Cre8or didn't know what to do!
I loaded the blades for the helicopter by importing them and named them blades in the settings menu. Then I imported the body, and named it body. Then I went to the figure editor and built two bones, one off of the root for the body of the helicopter, and a bone branching off of that for the blade assembly. I turned this bone 90 degrees. I then set the parameters for both bones, and then added the object pieces to the bones, and skinned the bones, and named and the whole thing helo. I then went to the sequence editor and made just one sequence and called it full throttle. (I made it so the blades turned about 270 degrees. I then went to the scene editor and added the helicopter and saved the scene without making any adjustments to the model, setting, ett.
When I opened the file with Cre8or I got far more than I saved.
Beyond that I can's remember too many specifics. I mean I tried everything and now I'm just a little burnt. Time to take a break and ask for some advice.

Well, I restarted my computer and no problems so far. That .dll file was probably from my old XP OS or something.(Old chunk of spyware probably.)

That's the best news I've heard all day! I mean I've been trying like crazy to get the count down. So that's a relief.  (I was wondering what people were talking about when they mentioned triangles and quads. I'm going to look back through the manual and the posts. Apperently it is another subject I need to spend some time on.
Oh! I finally got GIMP to work - after trying most of the day, on and off, to get Paint or some other program to edit my textures before applying them. GIMP looks sweet. It's too late to mess with it now, but I'm to put it through it's paces tomorrow.
If you're having trouble with GIMP check out their Forum - they have answers for just about anything. GIMP installed fine on my computer, but failed to run, and cited a file named libglib - 2.0 - 0.dll. The Forum Help said the file was, uh, "...curropt and probably left behind by..."; they suggested renaming the file - I just deleted it. It was dated 2007 - I just did a clean upgrade to Vista about five months ago. Go figure. Well, it's gone, now.

Thanks - I forgot about that one; I've been to quite a few new sites since finding Anim8or. (I've learned quite a bit too. If I can get my job back I'll probably end up sending in a donation - The program is a lot better than most of them I checked out, and every one of those was overpriced. Maybe Obama can fix the economy!

I had a similar problem earlier today. A couple of times I was just tired and forgot to switch the Front and Back buttons, but then I experienced what you're talking about. So far I figure it's extrusion, or it was for me. I thought I was just extruding but it  was separating the faces of the adjoining pieces I was extruding. I eventual got back to work without any problems, except when I extruded something. I plan on going over the manual before bed; I need to read up on all the stuff about joining segments, actually, anyway.  Good luck.
