Ive noticed that i dont have textures built into my version of anm8or. is that normal?

General Anim8or Forum / New competition on Animanon

Hi everyone
i would just like to announce the guys over at animanon have agreed to use one of my songs as the basis for the new competition. The plan will be to compose a short 3 minute ani to go with it. you can hear the song on mp3 tube >>>>

I also wouldnt mind posting all of them on youtube myself but we'll have to see what everyone thinks. I m really excited about this its the first time anyone has done this to my music so its great !!

General Anim8or Forum / subdivisions using shapes created from splines

Hi anim8ors
i would just like to ask if anyone knows how to create better subdivisions from shapes that were created using splines. For example im trying to model a dolphin but when i created the fins using splines then extruded and subdivided them, they came out rather crinkled. is there a way to make them smoother and better. Ok im kinda new so i guess these things come with time but some tips would be appreciated too!!

General Anim8or Forum / once you've grouped something how do you use the modifiers

hi again
i know i ask a lot of questions but ....
ive made this shark model and i want to give it a bend in the tail so it doesnt look rigid but when i go to bind modifiers my object dissapears. it seems to becos ive grouped the fins seperately to the body. is there any solution to this. p.s ive read the manual and it doest answer my question.

Hi all
ok i kinda understand how to add faces. You take the point select tool then join the lines to make a shape but the problem i have is how fill them. As it says in the users manual i have selected all the new lines ive created but they always appear RED and when i click fill holes nothing happens. Ive attached a small image to show you where im at. I hope someone can help me.

hi again
please forgive me all you experienced anim8ors for posting such a simple pic but i kinda like the idea of showing what ive done however simple then get feed, positive or negative so i may learn more. A couple of questions:
How can i make better colours?
and also why could i not select individual faces in point edit mode after converting to subdivide?
i was only able to select the whole image then apply one simple color. OK i'll try not to ask too much too soon so just 2 questions thanks

hello all, im new to this forum so id like to introduce myself. I go by the name of Haiku and i offer you a hand of friendship 
I am a musician and composer with an interest in writing music for animated movies. I would like to offer my services to any animators out there who want top class music for their animations, free of charge. I only ask that you give me credit for being the composer. Also i am looking for someone who might be interested in doing an animation for me. I have a piece of music which you can hear at http://www.myspace.com/ryanduende the piece is called paintings on a desolate landscape and is a deep and eary melody so im looking for someone to do a rather haunting ani for me. Other than that im interested in computer games like the legend of zelda and i also study classical guitar you can see some of my videos over at youtube http://www.youtube.com/delfin96 i have some versions of zelda songs on there and a funny version of the mario theme tune.
