Finished Works and Works in Progress / Game Art (Testing Phase)
« on: November 21, 2010, 06:02:44 am »
Hello,

Well, I figured I would post this up and continue updating as I progress in my project.

Model: Anim8or (Cylinder, lol)

Texture: Paint.Net (Decked out with a slew of plugins)

Render: CrazyBump ("Print Screen" key is awesome)

A Fantasy Coin which is in it's "clean" state right now, until I go in and rough up the model to make it look like a rough, hammered out coin, not a clean looking fresh from the mint coin as it is right now. This was also my first experiment with Displacement and Occlusion mapping. Coin textures and sizes are not final, only testing as of now. Any tips you can give me are welcome.

The coin was based on many old world cultures and methods of coin making. The text around the coin don't mean anything, it's just gibberish. Not until I finally get around to making my own language to use on this stuff, however until then keyboard smashing is pretty fun too.

All of this stuff I will be making will hopefully be put into a game i'm in the process of starting. (Demon's Souls got me back into loving RPG's again, now I want to start making one now for some odd reason?)

Right now i'm working on random stuff to see if this will even be possible with my current talents.

ASL Scripts / Connect Edge?
« on: June 20, 2010, 08:38:47 pm »
Everyone knows that anim8or has a 'connect edges' tool, however it's not as "smart" as the other programs versions. Can anything be done, script wise anyway, to make it more like the 3DS Max version?

Now, for those of you that don't know what i'm talking about, lets say you have a simple shape, and you do connect edges on it. A box will appear with options like how many lines you want to add and a slider to allow you to slide the new line between the existing edges. When you slide the line it stays with the original meshes angle, meaning if it's a 45° angle the line will move up and down along that 45° angle not changing the mesh in any way.  Now how I achieved the images below is the standard way in anim8or, use Connect edges and then manually move the line back into the original angle, however that is very time consuming.

So, now tell me is there anyway to achieve this in anim8or with scripts?

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Vista Problem?
« on: October 01, 2009, 09:08:05 pm »
OK, I finally got a new computer, but I have a problem!

I've searched the forum and I found people with the same problem, but everyone said if you do these certain things it will fix it. I've done them all and nothing works!

I've set Vista in compatibility mode, I'm already Admin and I've updated/uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics card driver and turned on multithreaded support and it still happens. Why? Doing anything with anim8or is frustrating as I cant see what I'm doing.  Now, my question is: Is there anything I can do to stop this.
