Well, instead of 1000+ topics I will just make one to post them all.

Also the Floor is not part of the model itís only a display device.

I'm so excited!  ;D I finally finished a Low polygon model! It Has UV-MAP and my first texture... 8)

This is the trash can version, "Explosive" version is coming next ...after some tips on how to make the texture better, of course.

I'm looking for Critiques, Comments and tips on the model and texture, not the render.

The model was very, very, very (<- About 100 more) simple, but as I wanted this texture job to be easy I went for easy modeling as well.

The texture is a mix of many different metal textures I had already and effects. I would have used my Paint shop 9 program to make the texture, but for the life of me I can't find the cloud filter button?

The Bottom one is of the UV Map. It's probably set up wrong? :(

ASL Scripts / Script Request: Flatten line?

Can anyone make a script that acts like "flatten" command, but works with just lines?

I have a hard time fixing all the lines that were made crooked or wrong, just wondering if anyone could make a script that could do this for me?

Well, this is my first model that I'm posting here as "Finished", While it may be posted here it is in no way finished. The Model is complete, but the render is lacking.

As you can tell the First render is just a simple crappy render, I didn't even look at what I was doing. I just punched in some random numbers and hit render.  :-\

The second image is what I was following. It is *NOT* My Render!
This will the be model that I will develop my rendering skills with, as right now I *can* make good renders but it takes way to long. Does anybody know some rendering secrets?

NOTE: As I said the render is NOT Final, just a quick render to show off the chair.

General Anim8or Forum / Smoothing groups! (And other questions)

Quick questions, Does Anim8or have smoothing groups? I'm not seeing anywhere, just making sure I didn't miss it. I finished my new model, but without a proper smoothing group it looks ...."Less-than-stellar".

Here is my model as you can see it's nice and detailed, but to keep the polygons low I had cut a few corners. Itís somewhat "lowpoly" at 716 polygon's un-triangulated, and about 1338 triangulated. Iím using it as a model in game, not sure yet if it will be just a mod for some game or use in one of my own games I'm planning.

Also, looking at the wire do you see anything wrong or something I can do better, after 10 days of modeling this freaking thing my eyes are blending the lines together. I'm also not the best at making game models; I know a few of you have experience in game models, thought at ask the masters.

 If you need more wire angles let me know.

General Anim8or Forum / Bump mapping nightmare (56k Warning)

Well, I'm messing around with normal mapping (Bump mapping) and no matter how much I try it never wants to bump map on the X axis?

Here is an example:

As you can see the Y Axis renders just fine, while the X axis acts like it wants to, but it wont. Also why are there circles in the Bump map edge?
Here is the same model as above but the lighting was changed in the other direction, as I thought: "Maybe the light was making it render funny", nope. Even without a light in the scene it still does it as well.
Here is the same render as above but with the diffuse map on it, it shows even better that it just stops when it tries to render on the X axis.

EDIT: Here is new Bump map I was just thinking maybe the bump map was messed up, nope this is even worse.

Textured: No (Still have to learn how to do this)

Model Purpose: Game (TPS/Third Person Shooter)

Standard Render- 2 lights

UV MAP- ART Render

EXTRA:  To save loading a ton of pictures

I unfortunately can't complete the model, as i have no texture skill and I have tried to learn many, many times before.

Maybe I will try again at a later time, until then Vast in the low poly goodness. Go ahead, I SAID VAST!

General Anim8or Forum / Lightsaber blade

 How would i go about making a lightsaber blade? Like the one in this video (Blender)

The guy that made the is using (Halos?) in blender. What is a halo and can Anim8or do them too? Can anim8or even do anything close to this without having 3000 lights everywhere to make it look like it's glowing?

Does Anim8or support normal maps? If not is there any plans in the future? Normals would help out a lot. I know Anim8or has Bump maps, but Normals have a more profound bump mapping technique.

Does anyone else notice that the Panorama thing doesn't work with art. It loads the texture but when i render it's black. Also Fog doesn't work, like it does in scan line, are these bugs or are they features not implemented yet into ART?

Not complaining, just wondering. ???
