ASL Scripts / Re: Boolean operations plugin is here! (new version!)

I have waited so long for this!  It may not make a 100% perfect cutout, but it doesn't need to to be either. Why? The time saved fixing only a few misplaced faces/lines is no where near the time spent having to manually cutout a circle, or what ever, from a already modeled mesh.

Although it couldn't hurt to be improved just a little bit on the 'reliability' factors. I thank you from the bottom of my heart Kubajzz and all who helped. It's people like you, that know .Asl/coding, that are making Anim8or a more perfect tool everyday.

Wow! That Flash was neat, the way it moved and the dark colors it's felt very un-nerving. I think you should make a whole bunch of those types of renders going around an old house and make a horror point-and-click.

Could you explain number 3?  the description "a bit dodgy" doesn't really give much of an idea of the issue.

A lot of times you can't select a face no matter what angle you turn your model.

I have also experienced this, it's quite odd. You usually have turn on or off the 'Front' or 'Back' face selection tabs. A lot of times you have to group and then un-group (up to 1-5 times depending on what got corrupted) the model to re-enable face selection. However, these are the fixes for me when this happens, it may not work for all of Anim8ors... well, let's just call them ...quirks.

EDIT: I tired your Demo, it was very nice, little slow moving though. Built with 'Gamemaker' or C+?

@Arik
Very nice method Arik! I will have to test with that some time.

@Masta

Very nice space ship, I sure wouldn't want that thing fighting me. Just one thing to do: Use the trick Arik showed then, if you want too, find a higher quality space image, re-render and your all set!

I actually really like this new design, it feels better, looks better and looks like most of the other 3D sites forums.

Simple but to the point, that's the way I like it.

Well Goodbye Tanzim, I never really got to know you, but any anim8or user will be missed when they leave. Anim8or users are kind of like a brotherhood, we all help each other and care for one another, and we get saddened when a member leave us, but they will always be accepted back with open arms.

I came across this one a while ago. You can either post pictures of the model for comment or send the model in to be downloaded by the users. I've never used it so I cant comment on how good it is but I just figured I would share the link.

Well, we sure have a bunch of psychopaths here don't we? lol

Last I heard the blender guys/gals took care of the 'problem', they have more leeway then we do.

Wow! this guy is selling Blender, Poser, Mud box,anim8or, and sketch up ( all are free by the way) a $5,797.00 as he says for $47 dollars. What a rip off.

MudBox is free? The Trial/Demo is the only thing I can find for free?

The rest are all free though. I hope this guy gets sent to jail.

Nice! I always thought they should have some sort of after school program that teaches kids the noble 3D arts. :)

"Teach them how to 3D model, not to steal all my stuff" I always say. :D

Thank you, all of you!

"...Actually, Suppastar actually inspired me to do some modeling..."

I feel so special right now; I caused some of the elusive 'inspiration'.

Thanks both of you!...

@Spicy

I'm sure the same happened to you as it did to Hiho, the first image didn't show up? It's OK, the image with the green lines is the UV Map, just so you could see the edges more clearly.

@Hihosilver

Thank you! It saves about 1-6 minutes of render time on my PC with Full AA.
 Yes, that is the only downside, but it works and if you have no shadows cast on it, it's very convincing!.

On a side note I resent the first image showing the the texture on the model. So only the the picture showing the UV map showed up huh? Weird!

I'm planing on if/when Anim8or gets Normal maps, that I could also bake a Higher poly model on to the low poly. It would make it a lot more convincing then just texture alone.

EDIT: A friend of mine seen the image and asked me if the model was 'fully' modeled. I showed him this image. He thought it was just a rectangle underneath. I'm sure all of you wondered too.
