I have been using Anim8or on and off for about 3 years....Although the time I spent seriously working with it is only about 8 months.

Thank you, and good job on the model it matches very well, but your method is pure geometry. while mine is not.

How did i do it?

Two Circular plains with textures and Trans maps!
(View the pictures below to know how I did it)

With this setup you can make things look like they are glowing or change the colors on the fly. I set mine up to look like it had just been  extruded to see if anyone could tell the difference or not. Guess it worked :)

BTW: The Bump just smoothes the edges so it's not rough looking.

Very good, But how did you DO the Floor? is it just extruded panels ...or not?

Tell me how you made it and I'll tell you if your right.

Well, instead of 1000+ topics I will just make one to post them all.

Also the Floor is not part of the model it’s only a display device.

Models

#1

Model: Lowpoly Metal Table
Polygons: 156 (Triangulated)
Texture Size: 512x512

(Modeler's note: How did I do the floor?)

WOW, I Feel like such an idiot, I never knew that. :-[

I always used to make a cube and "Frame selected" until I zoomed in how far I wanted.  :D

I know, I really need to re-read the manual. I read part(s) of it when I was a brand new to the program, but that's about it.

I believe you got mixed up, sir.

It not Hihosilver that made it, it's G3.

...I officially hate you...
Nah, you give me hope ...sad, sad hope that I will one day get that good!

Anyway...

All of this was 100% made in Anim8or and from your own doing? No Trickery, no 3ds Max, (Or other programs) or used a tutorial?

If all of this was done in Anim8or I've still got some serious skills to aspire too. Once finished will you make a tutorial on making it, if only for us lowly peasants, sire (HA HA)

Hello Anim8or_Animator,

Please click on the image below my post, the image will expand on your screen, and it will explain everything to you in clear and easy to understand language.

Open the 'hand' file Floyd86 posted and follow the picture. Word for Word.

EDIT: You can also view 'Step 5' for the "unmoved" mesh. :)
Thanks,

Suppastar

PS. Hope you understand what to do now :)

A lot better edge!

The pickups and bridge look amazingly realistic. Cannot wait to see how well you get the tuners modeled. Are you going for realistic strings? Or just a simple cylinder, ya' know ...for the render times?

For those of you that don't know what a guitar string look like up-close:

Anyway, Keep up the good work! Can't wait for the finished product!

(I've never quite got the hang of Sub-division modeling, never could get my edges right)

Very nice!

Looks 100% correct, only thing I can say is: ...the top side towards bottom looks like it needs a little more more edge reinforcement?

BTW: Do you play guitar?

I myself have a Squire '51, basically it's just Stratocaster, it's the same body and style just has a different name it.

New Model!

I just couldn't stand to look at the extremely low poly model and it's very hard edges.

The funny thing is the new model looks a lot better, also a better texture, and almost the same amount of polygons. I don't know how I do this, my first version I always hate it and redo it. Then once I make the second version it's usually around the same amount of polygon but a lot more detailed?

Huh, anyway...

The Garbage in the trash can version was hard to get it to look like it was actually in the can/other garbage and not floating. :P

As you can see it's still the clean texture, I'm working on making graffiti, signs and stickers that people for some reason like to put on trash cans.

I like this UV Set up more anyway.

BTW: The giant SUPPASTAR in the texture is just a water mark, I just figured it's something people do when you don't want a whole texture stolen? If they want a part of they have to work for it.

@ Headwax

Thank you, will do!

@
yetipenguin

Thank you, planing on it. The new texture is just a clean base. Once I get all the shading/detail work done then comes the rust and paint chip layers. :)

@TomiL

LithUnwrap 1.3 is what I use, its free and very powerful

EDIT: Test render with new texture, looks a lot better!

Thank you!

Texture update, after spending some time with both Paint.net and PSP9 I've been able to make a better base (Clean-ish) texture.

it's 1024x1024 in it's original size. Once I have it Finished and all versions done (Clean and Damaged/Rusty), I will re-size down to 512 x 512, for the finishing touches.

Well, what do you think?  C&C!

NOTE: As of now I'm just working texture. Once I get the texture done I might redo the model and make it higher in polygons and make the UV's fit to the texture. Also, I wont do a final render until I at least get the new Texture done.

Hello,

I'm so excited!  ;D I finally finished a Low polygon model! It Has UV-MAP and my first texture... 8)

This is the trash can version, "Explosive" version is coming next ...after some tips on how to make the texture better, of course.

I'm looking for Critiques, Comments and tips on the model and texture, not the render.

The model was very, very, very (<- About 100 more) simple, but as I wanted this texture job to be easy I went for easy modeling as well.

The texture is a mix of many different metal textures I had already and Paint.net effects. I would have used my Paint shop 9 program to make the texture, but for the life of me I can't find the cloud filter button?

The Bottom one is of the UV Map. It's probably set up wrong? :(

General Anim8or Forum / Re: Ultimate 3D Game maker Engine
« on: April 11, 2009, 03:33:58 pm »
It's a nice engine, I do hope they remove the GM element from the mix and add in real 3D geometry and not sprite based "fakes", once they do that it would be a nice engine to use for small projects. Good find.

Very nice!

Once you get skinned meshes supported it will be hard to restrain me from attacking you with uncontrollable amounts of.......respect and praise!  lol
