ASL Scripts / VRML exporter plug-in

Hi everybody !  :)

I'm very proud to announce the release of my first script in ASL! So this is a vrml exporter plug-in.

Notice :

You can set the name of the scene. Create a string attribute named vrml_name and put the name of the scene in the string field.
If this attribute is not set, the scene will be named like your object.

You can create points of view directly in Anim8or :
make a primitive (whatever, a cube is perfect) and name it like that : view:name_of_point_of_view
This primitive won't appear in the final scene but a point of view at its position will be created.

Don't forget that .bmp file cannot be used for texture in vrml format !
An alert message in the console will inform you if some bmp textures are used.

WARNING : because of a lack of functions and some restrictions of ASL the shapes with several materials won't be exported correctly. Indeed the shape material will be only the first material applied in Anim8or.
I will correct this as soon as ASL allow to do that.

This is the last image of the GM's stories, a set of images I make for a friend.
Here the American dream for the GM (Glutton Mother  ?? ^^)

Modelled in Anim8or but the palms, and rendered with KT (ambient occlusion)

I join the textures for the hamburger, it can be useful for someone else !

I'm making a project about it (for some reasons...)

Hey everybody !

I made a tutorial to export the scenes from Anim8or to Kerkythea, a free open source photo realistic renderer.
Hum, just a little detail... this tuto is in french... maybe some people here speak french and will enjoy this tuto ^^ Or maybe someone could translate it in english =)

Hi everybody !  :)

I'm endeavouring to use Kerkythea to make some nice renderings, but I have a major problem : I export my scene to .3ds format, but when I import it in KT, it is said that the textures can't be loaded, and finally my scene is whole black :-\ Do you how to fix this problem ? I don't want to put again the textures on each object...

Hi everybody !
I have a small question :



As you can see on this image, I want to connect 2 shapes, so I want to merge some points. But before I have to "join solids", and this is possible only if the shapes are mesh and not subdivision. But my shapes are subdivided and if I convert them into mesh, there is too much point to connect. So, is there a solution to this problem ?

The script Chain Maker which is in the the official selection (http://anim8or.com/scripts/index.html) don't run. My Anim8or said : bug on line 105  :-X

What a pity, I found this script very interesting !

Create an object and colour it. Create a figure with this object and several bones, and then export in .an8. Now reimport this (Anim8or ask you to replace it, answer no and put a different name) and you will see that your figure lost all colour and the original figure too   :-\

To solve it I found a technique (not very practical ^^) : delete one bone and make undo, the figure will get his colour again ^^

I find a small bug (which exist in the 0.95 version too).
Create a N-Gon, make a rotation and then fill it. You will see the rotation is cancelled !
It's not very important, besides maybe it's normal, but it's a little strange  :D
