Sorry the ntlworld company was taken over by Virginia media broadband so the anim8or org eventually disappeared when ntlworld servers shut down some years ago , At the time I did grant any one in anim8or comunity to add plugin ,scripts, mats , anim8or hotkey map and an8 models to their own sites ,I think I still do have all the site/content backed up on dvdwr some where.

great script.....but whenever I try to subdivide anim8or crashes....any ideas ?

sorry for delay in reply ive tried to reproduce the crash in anim8or version  0.98 but have not been able to reproduce the crash .
You could try convert to mesh before convert to sub object !
Mesh alone is 1964 points 3918 edges and 1956 faces and switching viewports to wire because the default divisions on sub object will increase that stat to 31346 points 62688 edges and 31344 faces requiring 4.88m bytes .

seamless utilities can assist in use of your painter software (cloning tools) for blending your textures for your custom ! UVwraps or just a cylindrical or spherical map around entire mesh  what ever you plan to build
 
classic tool like stile will help you build your own personal library of seamless textures to clone with
also helpful t2 terrain texture generator ,can use this tools functions to add colour to your bump maps ,it exports diffuse and specular and shadow map

plugin script was made for anim8or (v0.97d)

the plugin loads as a parameteric shape meaning its only accessible from object mode (button looks like a unisex symbol)

check the first post of this topic for instruction on extra attribute settings

sure ear offset could be put in i also missed out hand and foot scale ,i will look into finishing the plugin after i finished playing eldarscroll oblivion

you can upload/attach files but only forum members can access them

forum allows
gif, jpg, png, txt, zip, an8, a8s, php, asp, html, htm

im unsure about this setmaterial it had no effect for me either

i checked ASL document and it said
Note: Most mesh member functions cannot be applied to non-mesh shapes because the geometry of parameteric shapes in cannot be directly edited.  However SetMaterial() can be applied to material index 0, the default material.

another part in document say

AddPoint() and AddTexCoord() add new vertices and texture coordinates to a mesh.  The return value is an integer index that is used to refer to the new point or texture coordinate when adding new faces.  AddMaterial() adds a  new material to the Mesh and returns it’s index.

i havent done much with materials but examples i have couple old asl material scripts

will only load cubemap~material once if material is detected this is done by using
texture $tex;
if ($tex == NULL) {} so even if material renamed the texture existence tell script not to reload them

other scripts with material i remember doing
New material.a8scommand script : only duplicate basic material setting ignoring textures

export_materialv1.a8s export basic material again no texture settings from object pallet into a .txt load script

my favorite script!!! but, what about this: moving body parts? i mean, x,y and z not just scale, even location
sorry you will have to use figure mode for rotation limbs
the export script is based on point location (morphs) the way it was scripted does not allow absolute rotation :/

oops didnt spot post sorry for delay

cloth should be quite easy to model using quad ring and connect edge commands or knife tool
because of the way it was created the a8s file would be double file size when switching geometry :/ plus im to lazy to go deep into coordinate data ,modelling sleeves is more practical

how ever before i forget ill upload the ASL developer script for v9 that has the uv crash bug fix

these files are used for producing the plugin so if you donot know how to use Anim8or Script Language dont download them

-note copy paste data .txt had slight change as well

sorry the an8 project model is not included for one simple reason "31.2 MB (32,795,146 bytes)" in size
how ever a8s v9 parametric shape plugin is essentially identical just  convert 100% of each parameter/attribute as target shape names used in the script or must easier method just scrap the target names and use your own custom plugin (just please make your own plugin icon if you do make your own)

you can use every thing in an8 using mouse apart from input of numbers by keyboard in view all mode notice top left of each view port is named ,left click will bring up view port menu

prospective does not have axis shown for one reason it is previewer of prospective ,if you want 3d view with axis just switch to wire mode or to orth or rotate view with arch rotate tool

Try using all or prospective view-port because other views do not have free motion with bone rotate tool
It is awkward i know but ! each mouse button is locked to the pyr/xyz of each bone ,if you dont have middle clicker on mouse you can use alt and right mouse button for z axis.
Once you get use to how mouse buttons used you can work out which button is used in each other ports
