General Anim8or Forum / Re: Mapping multiple side with textures
« on: February 20, 2008, 04:05:25 am »
To stop this from happening you can do two thing:
-The easy one: Select the objects/faces you want to texture and hit the apply button of the texture, now unselect it the the object/face will be texture even everywhere. The problem with this is that you cant move/scale the texture afterwards like with UV. It often gives a ugly result but somethings it will do.
-The harder one: Download an UV-map program like roadkill or UV-mapper, export your model, map it in the UV-mapper. Then texture it in your favorite paint program. This will give you the best result, but might be hard and cost some time doing it.

I belief he means in point 3 something like a FDD-box like they have in 3d max. I suggested something like that a long time ago for v0.96. This is a box which your place over your mesh and by moving the points of the modifier, you move points of your mesh. (http://www.render.ru/books/show_book.php?book_id=47)

General Anim8or Forum / Re: Physics engine?
« on: February 13, 2008, 10:36:08 am »
Someone made a phycics engine called cre8or (google it). Which is a bit like gamemaker for 3d. But i dont belief you can make those ragedolls whit it, nor is it as advanded as Reactor (3ds). I think we all agree that a physics engine (build-in) in anim8or would be awesome. Maybe an idea for v.96?

This is a scene I made a couple weeks ago. I wonder what you guys think of it? I spend about two days modeling it and was all made, textured and rendered in Anim8or. Only the ivy at the window was mdae with invygenerator. I tweaked it a bit with Pixia, like the blurry background.

General Anim8or Forum / Grassgen doesn't work for me.
« on: February 01, 2008, 03:04:33 pm »
I wonder if someone could help me: I would like to use grassgen but the program doesn't work for me.
I got a copy of grassgen from this site: http://mongoose.anim8or.org/grass_gen/index.html .
When i open the .exe, it asks me to typ in a INI filename. I don't know what a INI-file is or what i should typ in. I have tried many things but nothing worked out. Does someone know how I can use this program or maybe what's wrong with it?

yes, but its not easy. First make a texture with trans and spec 0 th rest default. Then you just select all the faces of your object. Then you use the Inset <I> tool. This will give each face a edge around it. How wide this edge should be, depends on yourself. While still having those faces selected, apply the material you made. When you render your image/movie it will be in wireframe.
