General Anim8or Forum / Re: Is R. Steven Glanville still alive?
« on: November 09, 2010, 11:48:42 pm »
Yes Steve is still alive, hes been busy but still is planning on making a new version of anim8or when he gets more time with everything the way it is right now I'm sure he is just too busy at the time.

You should use a higher res texture for your textures and UV it to its correct position, that will give your model a much better quality look. I use texture sizes 1024x1024, 1280x1280, 2500x2500 or greater

I made this completely in Anim8or and did not use any third party software. I think it looks good What do you think? This particular Model only has 1024 Vertices and 968 points Using Version 0.95 Scanline Render AA Filter at 3x3 Support.

« on: September 05, 2009, 01:27:27 pm »
hi i was wondering if anyone has tryed to make a script that runs the luxrender tool in anim8or? I don't know about scripting and I think with Lux Render there can be a script that can string to it but idk.
if you havent seen this rendering tool then check it out http://www.luxrender.net

it is a light on a high specular level and complete trans parent attached to a path using the extrude tool and the primitive N gon at 16 to 32 points and a light as the same color as the high specular color so if you use blue for the spec then its best to use a blue color light.

I used realistic textures on my buildings in anim8or I did have to modify them a little but it payed off anyways I used the anim8or internal render not opengl or scanline I used the raytrace Rendering mode

but a hint on creating buildings is to use as little meshes as possible but you want great quality. for my render and for each building I only used about 200 polygons witch is extremely small but I gave it good

quality using great textures. also instead of making parts of meshes peace by peace I use separate blocks to lower the polygons I stretch it across through the Main part of the building for more detail.

then I use the UV texture map tool to size the texture to fit in between the windows. It didn't take me very long and the quality came out great.

That is Actually Textures, Anim8or can not support that many windows In detail using that many polygons, I used textures with Widths And heights at 2080X1980 1600x1200 3000x2500 3400x3000

ASL Scripts / Script Request: Point Influence tool
« on: April 08, 2009, 06:55:17 pm »
Can anyone make a Point influence tool? Like When you click on one point it automatically Selects the other Point on the opposite  side of the Object? It can cut out a lot of time when modeling

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Re: Modeling?
« on: April 08, 2009, 12:36:31 pm »
I think all the ideas you guys came up with are great, I used anim8or for engineering Purposes and had to be quite professional with the detail. I was thinking of a measure tool in object mode  to give an good idea how profession the object is towards Realism.  I like the animation tools that came out It was very helpful in my last project steve,
