ideally. however each balloon is individually modeled from a simple sphere so thats a lot of polygons right there. especially the fact that the balloons form a 3d sort of bubble from every side. so that is even more balloons. so the real lag is from the balloons b/c the house is maybe 1000 polies at most.

i'm going to a sleep away camp for a month so i wont be able to do any animating until i get back. but this is not a project that i want to drop so easily.

looking great!

you've come a long way since your first post. the modeling looks great with a clean and consistent style. the only suggestion would be to fix how the shoulder of the woman is bending since it seams a bit creased. but the textures are great especially the one on the back of the computer.

keep it up! at this rate you'll be going to New Zealand in no time! :D

the mace looks great. but the sword handles are a little on the "fat" side and could use some reworking. however, the textures look gereat and the glow from the light saber is done very nicely. i would recomend using transmaps to create the glow instead of modeling it b/c it renders faster and looks so much better :)

keep it up!

johnar you've got me. maybe i''l try and animate it without the shadows unless they are totaly required. after all EART looked great and i didn't have many shadowing.

okay i'll see what i come up with.

by the way here are the settings for the balloon material:

-diffuse and ambient- defualt. (what ever color you set for the diffuse will be the color of the balloon)
-specular- white with a value of 0.7
-emmisive- 0.0
rough- 100
transparency - 0.5
the rest are default the render was in scanline havn't tried ART for balloons yet.

i'd love to animate it i already setup a rig with morph targets and all but the balloons take way too long to render in anim8or even with low qualaty settings.

all textures that i am uploading unless otherwise specified are perfectly seamless and tileable.

enjoy!

after watching this great pixar film i made a house model (not the same as in the movie) and made a balloon render with it flying. so here it is.

cool!

is that a forrunner structure from Halo?

anyways the only issue that i am noticing is that texture seams. these can be easily eliminated in the gimp by applying a filter->map->make seamless. and that shoyuld give you a seamless texture.

cheers!

found a bug in this amazing script.

you can't bevel a point on a subdivision mesh.

just thought you'd like to know. :)

its simple. you take your full rigged character and you use melody or another such program to create a LOD model which you import and attach to the skeleton,( which must be an exact copy of the high poly skeleton, ie. same named bones and same bone limits.) then you can animate and render your lower poly one and when you are satisfied you can just attach your high poly one to the skeleton. and do a final render.

i'm sorry if i didn't explain that too well.

any questions?

i decided to redo kerrigan since she didn't look so like herself anyways here it is the real main thing i added was the hair although i did resculpt the entire model again the hair is the only giant feature added.
