Here is the tutorial it shows the general method to create a lightsabre, however the best results can only be found by experimenting with the different elements used in the tutorial.

You can do a good lightsabre effect by using lots of crossing planes with a graded transparent texture and a high ambient value.

Be careful with the ASL script though because occasionally it can corrupt your fule so save regularly if you use it.

Andyba - Only if you set the AA really high which will make it render very very slowly.

This is a Vista bug

Try setting the Anim8or.exe to XP compatible mode and disable desktop composition.

The only problem with the Cre8or physics is that is takes ages to load afterwards in Anim8or.

It would be good if Anim8or could eventually integrate the features of Cre8or and Terranim8or

It would be good if manually entering the values were possible for UV Mapping and weight painting in figure mode.

They're working fine, but there's nothing behind them to refract so it looks normal.

Put on the ground grid to see the refraction. 
(but wait a long time for the render)

Make a new attribute Class, String:dielectric

new attribute IOR,Float (about 1.33 for glass, amount of refraction)

new attribute UnitDistance, Float (larger the number, less strong the colour)

2 suggestions:

1. Would it be possible to have the selected object/bone/camera etc. propeties in a toolbar on the right, which can be changed without having to doubleclick the  object.

2. For a future release it would be nice if rendering could be done on the GPU as well as CPU.

Although .97d crashes a lot less, it sometimes corrupts files  >:(
But that might just be because I'm now making more complex models
