Finished Works and Works in Progress / Space Ship of some sort
« on: August 13, 2010, 12:14:03 am »
Well my brother was trying to model a 3d object for his first time (a space ship), hes trying to mod X3, a space game. So then it got me in the mood to try and make my own space ship. Ive only done it a couple times so Im fairly new to modeling a space ship.
So here is one of my attempts.

ASL Scripts / Request for a script
« on: May 03, 2010, 09:29:57 pm »
Well I dont know much about the anim8or scripts (havent taken the time to learn the language to program one), so I am going to request one. I havnt seen any like this so far, but would it be possible to set a automatic hide and show of meshes (in object mode) and objects (in scene mode) that are too far away from the camera.
eg. mesh1 distance from camera is 50 -show
mesh1 distance from camera is 200 - hide

So basicaly, when the camera moves away from mesh1, mesh1 would atomatically hide.
I aslo want to do this for multiple (hundreds, literaly) of meshes, so implementing somthing to do this to mass amounts of meshes and objects would help.
Point of this would to help anim8or from crashing while working with alot of grass.
Thank you, I know this would be alot of work, but it will be much apreiciated.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Basics of a character
« on: May 01, 2010, 06:44:35 pm »
Well, I'm making a game for a cre8or challenge, and I just started today.
So far I have the begining of the character, I still need to add  clothes to it, the weapon and a few other things, but what I really need now is some opinions on the porportions of the body. In other words, does this character look like someone bash them over the head with a sledge hammer (cause thats how I described one of my first characters).
Thanks.  ;D

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Close up, on a tree
« on: April 03, 2010, 06:59:23 pm »
The Title says it all,
Just some random pictures of whats going to be a close up on a tree,
tell me what you think  ;)
It's a high memory taking model, so rendering time was longer, it was somwhere around 1:50 min for the first picture, which had shadows at 4 AA,
and for the second pic, rendering time was somwhere around 2:30 minutes and had shadows at 16 AA

Well I want a really freeform water object and was wonder if anyone knew of a good program/engine (or any would at least help) besides blender (just cause it keeps giving me issues with exporting?!?!?), with the download link please, that can simulate water of many types and export it.
I heard of watergen, and would like to try it, but unfortunetly I cannot find a link to download it. Thanks  ;D

I edited and made a few high res textures, then layered them on a sphere.
I was mostly screwing around seeing what would come ot and here it is.

Comment please ( :

Render time around 30 sec,
time spent around 3 hours, tweaking out stuff and editing textures.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / A forest Render, RATE PLEASE
« on: February 20, 2010, 09:55:34 pm »
I quickly did some tree tests with a terrain, mind you this was done under 20, and took a whole 3 minutes to render!, but then again I was rendering 3 things at onece so thats probably why.

Well here it is. CAN SOMBODY RATE!!! ANYBODY!!! 0 meaning bad - 10 meaning good (I like it when people rate things, that way I can tell if it needs to be worked on, well I know it needs to be worked on, just I dont know how much!?!?!?!RATE)
Any other feedback (comments and things) are welcome/preffered than no one answering.

General Anim8or Forum / RendersInAnim8or
« on: February 17, 2010, 04:34:34 pm »
Just a small question, I was render a scene and thought if there were any of types of renderers that somone might have brought upthat works in anim8or. So is there any other renderers to render my scene besides Scanline, Art Raytracer and OpenGL?
