It might be my monitor, in fact, it undoubtedly IS my monitor to an extent, but it could use more contrast. I couldn't even tell he was an actual Viking until brightened the pic and saw his axe. The colours on the clothes rather blend together, making it all look like it's made from the same cloth. They also don't look separated, looking almost like they are attached rather than wrapped and layered over one another. This is nitpicking, I admit, and it's a really awesome model to be sure. I like the face especially.

Call me a dullard with a capital dull, but where is this program? I can't see any links to it.

Fairly minor, but I'd like to be able to change colours of lines and such in the GUI. The contrast between the rotate screen tool (as opposed to object rotation) is such on my screen that half the time I forget it's even on until I try to affect something on screen. Another case where this would be useful is when the reference image has poor contrast with the line colours.

That is actually, though I had to use a spotlight rather than a local light, as you can't edit the inner and outer angle for a local light. Still, thank you very much. :D

Is there any way to get a sharp edged circle of light? I've tried playing around with cut-outs and spotlights, but nothing has really created the intended effect so far.

Something I would like to see if possible is bridging between faces with different numbered edges. Also, I find the fill tool doesn't work with faces with more than 12 edges.

The proportions seem slightly off, though that may be my monitor for all I know. The texture is a little blurry, though by the sounds of things you are working on that. The metal doesn't quite look right. It's shiny, sure, but not the right kind of shiny for a soda can. Too white and too perfectly chrome mirror like. Soda cans in my experience tend to be greyer and more matte, depending on lighting.
Conversely, the printed part of the label probably could be more specular. The tab looks rather flat and the indents don't look quite  right either, they looks too solid. It doesn't look like you could open the can.
Any way, those are my observations. I hope I do not come across as too harsh.

Thank you kindly. :)

Slightly late reply, but I'd like to thank kreator for the reply as it helped me too. The manual really didn't help, I am afraid. One thing I am wondering if one can do is how to create a gold mirror, like the gold visors astronauts, cosmonauts and taikonauts wear on EVA. I've tried using the above, but it creates either a silver mirror (setting specular to 1) no matter the colour, or a faint and only slightly yellow mirror, getting more yellow but also more faint with lower specular values.

Branching splines would be nice, though I lack the know-how to know to how tricky they'd be to implement.

Dang, does anyone have that plug-in saved? I got the base program, but not that file.

General Anim8or Forum / Terranim8or Distortion: How to?
« on: March 01, 2014, 02:40:59 am »
One of my goals is to make a Myst-esque island. One idea I had to make things slightly easier on myself was to make some trees in Anim8or and then use the random distortion feature in Terranim8or to add, well, some random, hopefully organic looking, distortion, so I don't have to individually model every single tree from scratch. Still, I can't seem to grok how to do this. Little help, guys and gals, oh ye sages of greater knowledge?

Rather thread necromancy I know, but the link no longer seems to work, and the Internet Archive doesn't have a copy. Does anyone have a copy of this?
