Finished Works and Works in Progress / senior project
« on: August 27, 2010, 05:27:58 pm »
well, I'm a senior this year, and Ive decided that i want to create a series about our 40 seniors (with juniors being minor characters) and release a short of about 10-20 minutes or so each 9 weeks, shouldn't be to hard :). anyway, i want to use this thread to post my work and what not so that you guys can offer tips to improve and ideas to make it better :) the chars will be made in a style similar to the 'MII' chars from the Nintendo console, but a little more elaborate so that each of our seniors will have there own distinct personality so they don't have to speak in order for ppl to know who they are. this is the first area i need help in, as I've never made a person before :( any tips on how to go about this or a base character to work off of would be a huge help. thanks ^^

i forgot about textures, it will probably be tomorrow for first screenies and on from there for the final. ill be kiking up my own project soon, but it shouldn't require a large amount of time on any constant basis, so ill be able to continue helping you out.

hmm...he needs a peice of seeweed stuck to his head for effect :P
JKJK ^^ BUT in all seriousness, great job. ill have the model of the church ready to go before saturday, hopefully up before today is out.
keep up the good work ^^

i liked the effect with the camera when i reared up ^^ tho i think you should improve frame rate.. great job tho

well you asked for a 'small' church so that's what you are going to get ;)
nah, what i meant is that the building I'm modding to look like a church IS a Zelda temple that I've recreated, but the progress I've made so far in adapting it suggest that there wont be much Zelda left by the time I'm through. currently it has a good amount of pollys more than i intended, but that's only because i changed my mind on how i wanted to build the windows half way through :p don't worry though, ill clean it up

also, im not really good at texturing. I'm going to make an attempt, but it wont hurt my feelings any if you decide to make your own ;)
i havn't made enough progress to want to show anything yet, but ill have a few screenies up soon

eh, did you want .an8 or .obj?

exactly how creepy/demented are we allowed to make this? i mean are there any spots were there will be dead/mangled skeletons of ppl maybe speared to a wall or something like that :)
anyway, id love to help out a bit, ill pick something and get it started ^.^
i think i may have something i can work with a bit to make it adaptable to be used as a church, tho you cant get mad at me for it having Zelda themes XD

im going to add a lava lamp for extra light ^^
its light will be a bit softer than the big lamp but it will light a pretty well most of the room. my only issue atm is the green tint it likes to give everything :/
IDEA- what if i make the glass translucent and green so the lamp looks green but the actual light only has a slight green tint?or maybe make the lavelamp realy simple and just add a texture and look for other sources of light. any thoughts?
also whars a GI?

wait a minute... nowhere did it say "still"... in fact, the use of the term "scene" implied it would be rendered with a distinct hint of "animation" involved, as I read it.

If it's a "still", I'm going to withdraw, because my whole premise is based on animation.

Sorry, folks.

yea that ruined it for me 2 :/ o well, back to my transformer project ^^
