Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Re: Feature Request Thread

I am building another environment and again I'm thinking, I wish I could "walk forward turn and back"   Maybe that is what the arrow keys could do when not in use. OR maybe on the # pad when # lock is off.

I like the drop-down menu bar at the top but having a larger bar for anim8or stuff would be nice because I often drop down the menu bar on accident, but that is my problem and I like the huge work area..   I also like that hitting f11 while in full screen brings it to a much smaller window giving quick access to the desktop.

Ongoing Anim8or Development / Perspective memory
« on: January 16, 2016, 09:24:40 am »
Apparently I leave programs open for long periods of time and don't realize it, thanks Steve, i'll be more careful to restart and confirm problems before I bring them up... It was just a bug :o

Perspective view would remember where you left it in the window you were using it in, that was nice to kind of give you a floating camera.   I'm using it in object mode right now... let me check if it still does it in scene mode...

I checked it is still fine in scene....  Maybe it never did in object I don't remember, it's been a week or two since building something  :o

Thanks cooldude234!  I really appreciate that...   As an artist yourself (and I consider everyone here to be) I love it that you can appreciate what I'm trying to do.  The work involved, the time.. I tell you what the hardest people to please are the laymen, but we were all there once!   ::) ;D

This is a cartoon related to the movie The Thing, loved that show and hoped there would be a sequel in space... There was a prequel and that was awesome, but still not in space!  The full cartoon I hope to finish this week.   All environments and modeling were built and rendered completely in Anim8or!  ;D

Is it possible to connect a point to an edge creating two edges?  And Is it possible to remove points without losing an edge?

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Re: rotating objects and saved views
« on: December 30, 2015, 08:11:28 pm »
I recommend having the latest build 1205 if you don't already.  The ARC button now has a hot key that turns on and off as you hold alt. I personally prefer perspective view in my main window and make adjustments in windows 2, 3, and 4 windows (top, right. ortho, ect) that method may help your view point issues.   I use "grid snap" to help with object alignment when I need it and also pressing the arrow keys while left clicking a point makes fine exact adjustments.   There is also a script for determining precise distances between points.  Sometimes I would like to move something "in and out" without changing my view, in that case I briefly change to "object coordinates" rather than "screen coordinates" to do that.

Well you are Boss second only too Zen master Steve, the "alt-view rotate" is great..  Your "render manager" sounds great, currently I have been rendering (problem) scenes as frames in a single folder then exporting those to a second program where I find the frames that have the shadows "reversed" and render those frames individually then replace the bad frames.....  Tedious but not really if you only have a few frames to replace......  But that "radial menu" is superb, I would put that on the top of my most wanted!  I could only imagine hitting a hot key for that-  AND if those buttons on the radial menu were programmable?!!  I'll stop dreaming now.

Ok all the same, thanks. Speaking of the fast select I discovered the usefulness of that as well.... and Raxx, I was watching your tWEAK v0.1b vid on youtube, It looked like you were working with a "heads up display" toggle for your tools on Anim8or... That looks great, did you ever release that?
