Finished Works and Works in Progress / I'm Back with a New Intro
« on: June 12, 2014, 02:18:14 pm »
Hey guys. Again I ended up doing other things that don't involve 3D, but since I had an idea for a potential new Youtube show, I decided to come back.

So, now that I have everything working properly (Had an issue with a bug), here's my new intro!

I may try to improve some things eventually, but for now, this is it. If you're interested in seeing how far I've come, here's the Original.

It was made entirely with Anim8or and put together with Windows 7 Movie Maker. Boy do I miss XP's movie maker...

Also, the background used was made by me and is free to use with proper credit given. (Download Here).

General Anim8or Forum / My Anim8or is Bugging Out
« on: June 10, 2014, 02:00:13 pm »
Hey guys. I'm back because I had some ideas for a (somewhat new) Youtube show that will probably be using Anim8or. Right now I'm working on remaking my logo since I can see how dumb it looks being so old. I've redesigned it completely since then:

Anyway... to the point. Everything was going fine until I tried to add a panorama background in Scene editor. First I was using the 1088 version just to try it out and I thought that was the problem, so I tried the 0.97d version I had laying around, and had pretty much the same problem.

When loading a panorama image in 1088, I would select the file and it would return to the screen as normal, only it would stop responding as if it were loading and stayed that way. I tried again and it said My Pictures was empty. What!? So I checked it and it's clearly not. I decided to restart the program and had the same results.

In 0.97d, I load and select my panorama image and it stops responding the same way:

Then when it finally loads, the File section remains blank with no filename. I click Ok, and there is an image, but it's all white. Even weirder, after this point, I can no longer take screenshots while in the window! How is that even possible!

Trying to load the image again shows My Pictures being empty

When trying to render the scene, it shows all the "save image" buttons and all that, but the scene editor view stays visible where the render should be and I cannot save the render

When trying to save the file, I can only see the filenames with no thumbnails

When trying to leave scene editor, Anim8or stops responding for a while and eventually shows the respective mode's toolbars while still showing the scene editor's screen.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on. The panorama image in question is attached in case it has something to do with that particular image.

General Anim8or Forum / Model Turned Black
« on: June 03, 2013, 11:16:21 pm »
Hey everyone, Long time no see.

So I've been remaking my pony model for the billionth time in hopes of making an animated web series. I went to open up Anim8or one day to skin my model, and this happened:

Any idea what went wrong? The entire model is encased in a transparent layer (for the cartoon look) and it seems to have turned black. I removed the texture and readded it, but that didn't seem to work. It looks this way in Figure Mode too. Can this be fixed?

It looks perfectly fine when it's rendered, I just can't see my parts.

General Anim8or Forum / Lighting Question
« on: May 25, 2012, 10:47:37 pm »
Is it possible to animate the radius of lights?  It would be very helpful to be able to do that, but if not I can always change the color to make it appear not as bright unless anyone has other suggestions.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Rainbow Factory
« on: April 21, 2012, 10:16:17 am »
So I started a new animation project this week.  I've been exploring some of the most famous My Little Pony horror fanfics and I think Rainbow Factory is my favorite.  My idea is to make a PMV of it using Anim8or.  I probably won't finish it since I'll likely run out of motivation after finishing the models, but it will be fun to start.
My video will be set to the Rainbow Factory fan song by WoodenToaster on Youtube.  If you haven't heard it, it's an AWESOME song.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PjIhs72l0A[/youtube]&list=PLC6D4A89D5C7B46C7&index=40&feature=plpp_video"]BronyDanceParty's PMV
and if you haven't read the fanfic, it's Here . If you look at the description of the video, it says that they didn't base their video off of the fanfic.  It shows the pony being sliced I guess instead of crushed like in the story.
I plan to make my video based on the fanfic and have ponies be crushed, yet still try to keep it at least PG, like not showing blood and moving the camera away when the ponies get crushed or just show silhouettes when the gory things happen.  Kind of just giving ideas if you know what I mean.    Unfortunately, I'll probably have to listen to the song a ton of times to get timing right which would make me get tired of the song... but it will still turn out to be an awesome video if I can finish it!
I decided to remake my pony model for this. I think it turned out a LOT better than my old pony model. This proves that sometimes less polys improves more than just render time!  I used the "Toon Tutorial" to give it an outline.  I'm debating whether I should keep the outline on it, or take that off and shade it, or even just take off the outline and leave it unshaded.  What do you guys think?  I haven't had many comments on Youtube or DeviantArt for this, so hopefully you guys will help.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Friendship Express

I've just completed a work of art with Anim8or after a long break.  It's the train shown in My Little Pony. It's just the engine at the moment because I didn't really feel like making the rest of the cars.  Some parts are subdivided and some aren't.

It didn't take me long to make this, only a few hours since it's made of simple shapes.

Video:

The video is a little bouncy, but it kind of adds to the cartoon aspect of it.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Trololo!
« on: February 01, 2012, 09:08:13 pm »
I finally finished an animation I've been working on for a few months now.  The lipsynching is off a bit since it looked like that in the original video. I basically followed every frame, then tweaked it a bit to get the movements right to the best of the figure's ability.

So on my new computer, the select tool seems to ghost all over the place when I use it. Is there a fix to this?

24
So I took the chance I got to use Anim8or for my science project!  The assignment was to make a presentation on the Kinetic Molecular Theory with a poster, Word brochure, PhotoStory, ect. Or.... go all out and make an animation!

http://youtu.be/_rsqBNhFG1Y

Like it says in the description, the resolution came out horrible. I don't know what happened. I'll have to reupload it sometime soon, but it's due tomorrow so I don't have time to fix it at the moment.

Also, this is the first video I've uploaded that has my actual voice!

25
So I have my new computer now, only the 7 version of WMM is impossible to use. I can't even see what I'm doing!  I know I can download an older version, but I kind of want something better.  I downloaded this thing called "Wax" because it looked like it would be what I wanted, but it only works with AVI files and I REALLY don't want to go through and convert everything!

I need good, free, high-rating software. Suggestions?

General Anim8or Forum / Speed up Scene editor?
« on: December 24, 2011, 09:10:59 pm »
I need a way to reduce the RAM and Processor usage of Scene editor, because on my computer it's getting ridiculous. You guys know my problems with RAM, but I also discovered that my processor is measured in MHz.  That's hardly the bare minimum in functionality!

"Mobile AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3500+ 351 MHz, 896MB of RAM Physical Address Extention"

Well, a certain problem popped up (which I still can't find) that is dramatically decreasing the speed of Anim8or in Scene Mode.  I move a shape, and it literally takes longer than 60 seconds for it to move from point A to point B, and sometimes it doesn't even land on point B!  I really need a way to speed this up, because it's making it nearly unusable and more than frustrating!
I tried hiding high-poly shapes that I wasn't working with, which sped things up a little, but it's still bad.  I also got a cleaning program that found over 8000 problems with my computer and supposedly fixed them, but still no luck with Anim8or. Any suggestions? I need them badly.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / So I Finally Try "Subdivision"
« on: November 07, 2011, 10:09:25 pm »
and I must say, I was wrong about it! I never used it because I thought it wouldn't do the things I wanted and I would always do everything "from scratch". Absolutely none of my previous models used the subdivided feature.  But now I decided I would try it out and I feel amazed and stupid at the same time that I didn't use this before! (Herpaderp  :P ) So this is what I came up with. Bet you can't guess what it is! of course now I have to figure out how I'm going to add the eyes and mouth in there...

Finished Works and Works in Progress / UFO Sighting Reconstruction
« on: September 19, 2011, 07:02:16 pm »
Sorry for posting so many topics  :-\ but this was just awesome.

So I had somewhat of a "UFO" experience yesterday. I was driving down the highway with my mom, and I look out the window to see this crazy-looking thing.  I couldn't get any pictures, so I decided Anim8or was the perfect tool to make an animated reconstruction!  Hope you find it interesting, and if anyone could tell me what this thing could be, that would be great.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Some Lipsyncing
« on: September 14, 2011, 04:14:56 pm »
Introducing...

Just a lipsync test that I decided to take to the next level.  I know the fireworks didn't turn out the best. I wanted to re-render that clip and fix them but... I didn't feel like it at all.  Some of the lipsyncing is a bit off, especially in the first line. So anyway, here it is.
