General Anim8or Forum / Glowing
« on: November 03, 2010, 03:36:42 pm »
So I read the lighting tutorial on how to make things glow, but i'm confused. Are all those "filters" just objects? if so what do I do to them to achieve the glow effect? is there a seperate tutorial on how to make those?

« on: October 29, 2010, 06:37:57 pm »
So i'm in scene mod and i'm trying to get a certain bone to move in the Y axis.  It's added a controller for the X axis, but how do I get it to add a controller for the Y axis? or even the Z axis for that matter

General Anim8or Forum / is there ANY way to get rid of "missing objects"?

This is getting really annoying, first there were only 50-something because I imported the skeleton from the cursed horse, but now there's 115!  I imported again so I could make another character! is there any way possible to make it stop giving me that notification?

General Anim8or Forum / these eyelids are driving me CRAZY
« on: October 16, 2010, 06:03:54 pm »
Ok, now i'm having even more problems.  I made my blink sequence with the eyelids, it looks perfect in sequence mode, but look what happens in scene mode
http://tinypic.com/r/xd86sk/7
Yes, the bones are moving exactly how they're supposed to be, everything is working perfectly except the eyelid won't move with the bone in scene mode and I don't know why
I Just tried deleting the figure and putting it back, no luck.  where the eye is supposed to be completely closed, the half-circle is floating above the head.

Someone PLEASE help me out here?

Can someone show me to, or give me the link to the topic/post where that hair script is? I can't seem to find it.
Also, with hair, will it take longer to render that way?

General Anim8or Forum / need help skinning
« on: September 14, 2010, 05:20:34 pm »
I'm trying to skin my object using weights, but i'm having trouble with it.  I keep getting the message that says "the bone must be a descendent of the bone the object is attatched to" or something, and the only way i'll be able to do it is if I can attach the object to the root bone, but it won't let me do that either. can someone help me out?

I think it would be helpful to have a Cut-away view tool in object mode.  it would be helpful in making models that might have nostrils or eye sockets as it would make it easier to make the round edges from the inside.

(I am semi-new, so I haven't learned everything about Anim8or yet.  If this already exists, please let me know.)

Finished Works and Works in Progress / My new project
« on: August 27, 2010, 02:41:20 pm »
As you might have heard me say, i'm going to start a new project.  this time it will be a movie based on a book I wrote.  it will take a very long time, but I'm going to make the movie in chapters and upload to Youtube individually.

The book is called The Mare of the Midnight Star (yes, i'm really into horses)  It's not the most amazing or original thing around, so i'm not going to brag and leave myself open to put-downs.  Anyway, the story is about a horse named Shadow Runner who loses her mother (who was the herd leader) in the beginning, forcing her to be the next leader.  She tries to get a guy-horse and fails, and she meets the bad guy who's a cougar named Marfóir.  then she meets another stallion who falls in love with her, blah, blah, blah.

The main plot i guess is that she doesn't know it, but she's actually born with a power.  She's one of six horses that are called "the horses of the six powers". so yeah, sort of fantasy that's probably been done before.  The story takes place in Ireland so there's lots of hills and cliffs and oceans and stuff.

Anyway, here's what i've started with, these are my reference pictures. it's actually an old Barbie horse with it's leg broken off... but it doesn't move, so it's good for refs!

A full head should be easier than a skull, am I right?

I noticed that for some reason I can only have a 1 character signature.  to have a full signature, is it based on rank, or account age?  I've risen to full member and it still won't work, what do I have to do?

General Anim8or Forum / need help with Keys
« on: August 16, 2010, 06:23:43 pm »
I've been working on the sequences for my animation, but the animation for the running cycle was made too slow. Too much space between Key Frames pretty much. Is there any way I can move Key Frames around without having to redo my whole sequence? like, moving a Key Frame dot back a couple spaces?

General Anim8or Forum / Trees
« on: August 12, 2010, 01:58:07 pm »
Sorry everyone, i'm probably annoying all of you with all of these topics by now. But anyway, does anyone have any tips or tutorials on making trees?  I'm trying to get a Pirates of the Caribbean like feel, so should I do palm trees? regular trees? maybe both? Either way, i'll need some advice for tree-modeling.

General Anim8or Forum / Weird legs
« on: August 10, 2010, 03:06:54 pm »
As most of you know, i've been making an animated horse skeleton. I've finished making my walk cycle, but the back legs aren't cooperating.  The bones for the pelvis are at a slant, causing the back legs to curve inward, and in my last frames the back legs cross over each other. How do I fix this "joint problem"?
