Hello... I don't think that the link to the forum (Original) is still useful. Keeping just the new one will save bandwidth, right admin?

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Grid Snap idea
« on: November 01, 2008, 03:18:29 pm »
Hi
If "grid snap" is enabled,
when moving an object,
it would be nice to draw two dashed lines along the x-y axes
(one horizontal and one vertical line, passing through the top left edge
of the object),
so as to know where the object is exactly snapped.
This would make easier the task of aligning objects.

Cool program! Really useful.
If there is such function, you can have a "Copy to clipboard" button in the export tab. In Visual Basic it is possible, I don't actually know about js...

I saw the demo. It's very good, but there is a small problem:
Run the demo
Move the window around, maximize or restore it
Watch what happens to the position of the objects: they move elsewhere.
It seems like a bug...

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Objects in sequence mode
« on: September 01, 2008, 05:06:41 am »
I have a small suggestion for the next version. Imagine a game engine like cre8or. You have a hero (figure/object) and you have some sequences for it (run, walk, shoot). Let's say that you want to add a sequence for a... super power, and you want some objects to start twisting around the hero. What you do? You will have to program all the objects twist around it. Really boring job. If we could animate the objects in sequence mode in anim8or beforehand, the things should speed up a lot.
I hope that object editing and animation can be integrated in sequence mode in the next versions.

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Re: Undo History
« on: September 01, 2008, 04:10:31 am »
There is a feature that I would like to see for the undo button: To make (part of) the undo history saveable. Sometimes I close anim8or, I reopen it, and I can't undo a small mistake I did before: major bummer. I will have to redesign the whole mesh. Well, you understand what I mean, part of the undo history to be saved in the .an8 file.
Well, this would make the .an8 files HUGE, but I have 2 solutions:
1) In the configuration, under the "undo buffer (MB)" setting, there can be an "undo history to be saved (MB)" setting, to specify the extra file size to be used in the undo history. (must be smaller than the undo buffer.)
2) There could be an "erase undo history from file" button in the file menu, to delete the undo history and to make the file smaller, if you are sure that it has no mistakes.

The shadow is the LOSS of the light: that means that if you have a blue light, its shadow should be... nothing, which is black. But since there is a yellow light to fill the "nothing", the shadow becomes yellow.
Yet there is a point: why the non-shadowed areas are white? See. We have a blue and a yellow light. Yellow is analysed in red and green, so: Red + Green + Blue = White.
[somehow what RudySchneider said, but with more "blah blah" :) ]

I think that windows Vista kills all programs that do not respond within 10 sec. If you have a processor with 2 cores, try enabling Multithreading, it might solve the problem.

It could be a registry key that is making the fuss. Go to C:/windows/regedit.exe and find/search Silicon Valley Software --> Anim8or. If you see that something doesn't feel right, you could tell us or change it back to normal.

I can't play the video at all, it starts playing, but before it shows anything, it stops... it is like if its duration was 0.000001 seconds :/
Anyway. Great engine, keep up the good work :thumbs up:
