Finished Works and Works in Progress / Re: Dragon Scene textured

awesome!  I really like the scene.

I must agree the texture job on the dragon looks pretty badass.
maybe just raising her arm to look as though shes blocking with her face turned away as it is could achieve that pose you were going for.

I've only really used the partical in blender go make grass before with great results. its such a versatile tool! really genius!

maybe some coloured lighting could add to the early morning feel you're going for.

thanks for reading my comments. I really look forward to seeing the result

Nice modelling!
Could we maybe see some wireframes? Very interested to see how you did the ladies hair.

have you thought of maybe adding some bump maps? especially to the dragons scales and ground texture. I feel it takes away from what could be an excellent render. the specular reflection on top the dragons head is too smooth also.

I love how you've textured the lady!
Maybe try to add something to the scene to justify the lady's pose.
also love the cape!

I like the feel of the scene!  I cant comment too much on the lighting except that it feels like the shadows are falling to the wrong side. The moon is behind the dragon so the shadow should be falling towards the camera.

Just a suggestion: maybe the scene would benefit a bit more from more back lighting and less lighting from the cameras side. like the moons white light accentuating the forms of the dragon, lady and tree trunk? if you want foreground lighting then maybe add a flame torch or lantern or something with some orange/yellow coloured light.

just a few suggestions but please keep this up. it looks great already.

Could I suggest adding some anti-aliasing to your render?  It would make for smoother edges and definitely add to your scene.

Look forward to seeing how this evolves

Brilliant! Excellent concept also.
You're a one man army diing this all by yourself!

I love this model. Very well done.

What stands out the most for me is the lighting setup you've used. I find it very believable.

Believable outside lighting has always been a pain for me.
The paving texture is also pretty cool.
Just to repeat what gas already been said - dont stop now, just keep the details coming. Make it sn epic render and lets add it to the anim8or gallery and show the world what anim8or is capable of! ! :)

I would recommend reading the manual.

Heres the part about the primary shapes in the object editor www.anim8or.com/learn/manual/3_object_editor.html#basic_objects

Hey there

Have a look here: http://www.anim8or.com/smf/index.php/topic,4129.msg30511.html#msg30511

Raxx came right printing other peoples anim8or models. The posts are like 2 years old but maybe you could juice some information out of them haha.
Hope you come right, best if luck and keep us posted.

Good Afternoon Anim8ors

I was hoping to lend your wisdom once again.

I need some help with cel-shading. I poked around the internet for some answers. What I found was this: www.anim8or.com/smf/index.php?topic=1054.0

I tried both methods mentioned and here are the results:

Method 1:
Ambient: 0.1
Diffuse: 0.5
Specular: 0
Transp: 1
Brill: 0.1
Rough: Blank

It looks just like normal shading to me. (See attached Image 1)

Method 2:
Ambient: 1
Diffuse: 1000
Spec: 0.5
Emmissive: 0
Rough: 0.1
Brill: 1
Transp: 1

This most definitely does the job but also wrecks any textures I've applied to the model. (See attached Image 2).

The textures applied to the models are ones I've made myself and not the plain colours from the default colour pallet. Could this have something to do with it?

Thanks for the insight

EDIT: my bad, added the pictures. Amateur mistake
