General Anim8or Forum / Re: potential virus
« on: December 21, 2008, 11:50:43 pm »
hey rellik420!, Yeah I noticed that too myself a while back. And I can tell you that my old PC that I had runs quite well and is free (from what I can tell) from viruses... Jeb is a wonderful artist, and was a very active participant  on the old forum here. If anything you should check out some of his newest work. I think his site is http://www.jeb.8k.com I don't know if or when he is going to update it. I havn't seen him on Anim8or in a while. Any way hope that answers your question.

Steve has got a point and like I mentioned before, it's bringing back those "Giggling like a school girl" rushes that I get when Steve mentions big surprises!

Can't wait!

Hey man, this is a question that we all ponder, but that also brings me back to realize what was stated in Anim8or when you goto About>License.

And I quote... "4. WARRANTY:

USE ANIM8OR AT YOUR OWN RISK.  THERE IS NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED
WARRANTY AS TO ITS CAPABILITIES OR FITNESS FOR ANY PURPOSE.
Anim8or is just a program that I write in my spare time and give away at no cost.
I can't promise anything but that I will try to fix any problems that my time allows.
BY USING THIS SOFTWARE YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS."

I mean we all wish Steve could spend all of his time making leaps and bounds with Anim8or, but then again we don't pay his bills!  ;D

And as I have found, it is like Christmas when Anim8or comes in a new build, and its also kinda a surprise. Which I personally kinda like. It makes you wonder, "what's going to be in this version!"

You should seriously see me when I check on this website and find that Anim8or has a update... needless to say "Giggling like a school girl since 2000!"

Any way to Steve can't wait, take your time, and make it good!  :D

thanks man for the comment, do note that the one that you like obviously does not use the "paint displacement" tool that silo uses. Thanks though.

Ok heres more. As you can see it is non-sub-d and sub-d originals before he went off to "paint". And a screen shot of my computer rendering both of them at the same time using ART with Ambient Occluder, and at 256 for the value of Antialiasing. Oh and upon "print screening", opening up Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9 (which happened in .95 seconds)  and pasting and saving I still only was using core 5 and 7... lol. Just thought Id share. I think its cool that I have the ability to render 8 scenes at once at full processing power. lol There is the multi-core rendering that we want!!!

« on: October 19, 2008, 07:45:23 pm »
Hey guys, I have made a random creature to use to test out Silo. Its a 3d app for windows and mac. So when I am not on windows I can do some touch ups on that side... Any way it was modeled in Anim8or, the only thing I did to it in Silo 2 was the "Paint Displacement". And I then brought It back to Anim8or and rendered it using ART and the new Ambient Occluder Attribute. Any way before you ask, I still am in love with Anim8or, even on why insane Mac Pro... I just wanted something, that I can tinker with my Anim8or stuff with in OS X... That and to try out "Paint Displacement". Which would be an awesome feature in Anim8or one day. But that wouldnt come till some time after v1.x. Any way here he is, I will add more progress renders and animations, and wire frames soon.

And I know I am supposed to be going on vacation tomorrow but I cant keep away as usual. And YES I am still working on "doob".

hey guys, time for a small update, And I wont have much more to update in the next couple of weeks as I am going back home to New Jersey to visit! Cant wait. Any way, I will say that I am slowly animating doob (mainly because of the trip I'm taking.) But here is a quick screen shot. I figured I would test my self to see how much expression, interaction, and "life like" smoothness I can get out of my animation. Any way I figured I would post this and keep replying while I'm away. And I also added some extras just for the heck of it.

« on: October 10, 2008, 05:01:18 pm »
uh, textures?
Theres no textures in that entire scene! ;) Ill post a wire rfame in a sec.lol. and its not a "cube". All sides are not equal.

cube –noun
1.   a solid bounded by six equal squares, the angle between any two adjacent faces being a right angle.

Its not the modeling I was focusing on. That only took about 10 minutes. Its that I wanted something that looked cool...lol Nothing fancy, just random.

Thanks i guess for the comment, lol.

Thanks guys for the comments, And to Guilherme, yes the ground is bumpmapped. Using the same file I used for my Diffuse texture, and its set to 100.

As for where Im going with doob, I plan on creating his own little world with other little creatures on it, and stuff. I dont know imagine something and ill add it to the project.

So thank you guys, and some more doob material will be posted soon. Oh and if you reading this goto my "subwoofer project" and comment on that. It makes me feel good! ;D
